MOPANI TVET COLLEGE HANDS OVER 154 SPECTACLES TO STUDENTS
Mopani TVET College handed over prescription spectacles to 154 students from Sir Val Duncan and Phalaborwa campuses as part of its commitment to student well-being and academic success.
A total of 56 students from Sir Val Duncan Campus and 98 from Phalaborwa Campus received spectacles after professional eye assessments identified the need for vision support.
The initiative followed an eye screening programme that began in May, with students who reported eyesight challenges referred for further assessment. The programme forms part of the College’s student-centred approach to removing barriers to learning and ensuring that students have the support they need to succeed.
College Principal Dr ML Baloyi encouraged beneficiaries to make full use of the support and remain focused on their academic goals.
The students welcomed the initiative and expressed their appreciation for the College’s support, noting that the spectacles would improve their ability to read, work on computers and focus on their studies.
Mopani TVET College remains committed to creating an inclusive learning environment where every student can learn, grow and succeed.
